
Dr. Frank Gilliam
Dean of the UCLA School of Public Affairs and Professor of Public Policy and Political Science. He was also the Associate Vice Chancellor, Community Partnerships in the University of California system (2002–2008), and founding director of the Center for Communications and Community at UCLA. He is a Senior Fellow at the FrameWorks Institute and was a Visiting Scholar at Brandeis University. His research focuses on strategic communications, public policy; electoral politics, and racial and ethnic politics.
Which mass public are we trying to engage (recognizing that the environmental movement has not, as a rule, been particularly inclusive)? How can we link the environmental movement to the social justice movement? How do we understand the institutional and political context for the discussion?
